The
1989 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce 2000 is a quintessential Italian roadster,
blending timeless design with spirited performance. As
part of the Series 3 generation, it retained the classic Pininfarina styling
while incorporating modern updates like integrated bumpers and improved interior
ergonomics. Under the bonnet, it featured a 2.0-litre DOHC inline-four engine,
delivering around 120 horsepower through a five-speed manual gearbox. The Veloce
trim added luxury touches such as leather seats, air conditioning, and power
windows, enhancing comfort without compromising the car’s raw driving
appeal.
Rear-wheel
drive and a well-balanced chassis made it agile and engaging on twisty roads,
while its open-top design offered pure motoring pleasure. Today, it remains a
sought-after classic, prized by enthusiasts for its blend of style, heritage,
and authentic Alfa Romeo soul.
This
S3 version was first registered in February 1989 and showing only 83,441 miles
this car, like most cars imported from Italy, was converted to right hand
drive under license by Bell and Colville from new.
Showing
as only seven previous keepers in over 36 years, most recently the car has been
cherished and well maintained by the owner as evidence by a good amount of
service invoices for routine maintenance and improvement from local specialist
Alfaholics of Bristol.
A
new hood was fitted in 2022 and four new tyres in the last few hundred
miles, which hint at a fastidious owner wanting to keep the Alfa looking
sharp and running well.
The
current MOT certificate is valid till March 2026. The history file includes a
good amount of service and maintenance history.
