Only 28,200 miles with excellent service history; fabulous
condition; nice MGC number plate; cost nearly £100k new; forced sale due to
illness; majestic sound track!
A masterclass in Italian
elegance, the Pininfarina-styled Maserati GranCabrio came out in 2010 as a
drop-top version of the GranTurismo S Automatic Coupe. The first convertible
Maserati with proper seating for four, it was powered by the same fabulous
Ferrari-built naturally-aspirated 4.7 V8 producing 434bhp and 490Nm of torque.
Driving through Ferrari's paddle-shift six-speed automated manual transmission,
it could sprint to 60mph in 4.9 seconds with a top speed of
183mph.
The thing that will attract
attention above all else is the thrilling operatic exhaust note which the driver
can enjoy in all its majesty when the electric triple-layer canvas roof is
down. Costing almost £100k new, around 11,715 GranCabrios
were sold before it was replaced by a slightly revised S version in 2011.
First registered in April 2011, this GranCabrio looks fantastic in
Granite Grey metallic with a full leather Rosso interior and 20” alloy wheels.
It has covered only 28,200 miles with an excellent service history including
five stamps in the book, the last in April 2021 at 26,872 miles by Super Car
Centre of Sheffield (see photos).
Our vendor acquired the car
from them in October 2021 (the invoice showing that he paid substantially more
than the guide price suggested here). They also gave it another oil service
before he collected it and he has used it very sparingly in fine weather only
since.
Invoices show that it had a
new set of spark plugs and two new coil packs in October 2023; a full health
check at MOT time in November 2023 which it passed with flying colours once an
issue with the handbrake was sorted; plus a pair of new genuine Maserati front
coil springs in December 2024.
Most recently, in September
this year it went to Maserati specialists Giallo Cars of Tonbridge for another
health check which resulted in new cam cover gaskets, Variator seals and spark
plug seals; new engine mountings; four new drop links (front and rear); new
expansion tank; new electric window switches and boot button switch and a new
battery. They also spotted a bulge in the o/s/f tyre so that was also replaced.
Supplied with an MOT until December 2025 with just one minor advisory
(nail in o/s/r tyre), the car has also been fitted with a Tracker theft-recovery
system and comes with a spare key fob which was on its way to us in the post at
the time of writing. Originally registered as GX11 FZW, the icing on the
cake is the appropriate MGC number plate which is included with the
car.
As you can see in the photos
and the video, this low-mileage Maserati looks (and sounds) absolutely wonderful
and will turn heads wherever it goes. It is only reluctantly for sale due to the
advancing years and declining health of the owner.
We took a real shine
to this Granite Grey beauty and we are sure that you will too, so make
sure you come and see it!
