Fabulous
condition; optional blue over grey colour scheme; only 880 miles since
restoration
The
1956 Velocette LE MkII 200cc twin was a refined version of the innovative
“Little Engine” motorcycle, designed for quiet, reliable urban transport.
Powered by a 192cc water-cooled, horizontally opposed twin-cylinder engine with
shaft drive, it offered smooth performance and low maintenance. The MkII
featured improved electrics, a three-speed gearbox, and enhanced weather
protection, making it popular with police forces across the UK. Its
pressed-steel frame and leg shields gave it a scooter-like appearance, though it
retained motorcycle handling. Though unconventional in design, the LE MkII
became a symbol of practical post-war British engineering and remains a
collector’s curiosity today.
Re-registered
in July 2012 after a full restoration, but recorded as manufactured in 1956 on
the current V5C, that shows only two former keepers and just 880 miles since
restoration.
Originally
supplied in the optional blue over grey colour scheme, included in the sale are
some spares as pictured a technical manual, wiring diagrams and a copy of the
Velocette book.
Looks
to be in great order and has been starting onsite as can be seen in the
video.
