Early three-door

make this a great investment for the future; V8 petrol; 3 door; manual; twin SU
carburettor
This is a rare opportunity to
purchase one of the very first Land Rover Discovery ever built: a 1989
three-door Series 1 V8 petrol model with a manual gearbox and SU carburettors
and manual choke. First registered in March 1990, it covered only 138,529 miles
and includes factory-fitted air conditioning, which currently requires
re-gassing. Early three-door carburettor Discovery’s are increasingly sought
after and seldom come to market.
Extensive work has already
been carried out. All bodywork welding has been completed to a solid standard,
the vendor has informed us that the vehicle has benefited from a full-service
including axle and gearbox oil changes recently. The SU carburettor’s have been
professionally rebuilt. Within the last two years it has received all new wheel
bearings, and nearly all brake pipes have been replaced. Mechanically, it is in
strong condition and ready for the next owner to take it to
completion.
The interior still requires
some finishing touches and there remains some paintwork to be addressed, making
it an ideal light restoration project for an enthusiast. The wheels and tyres
were recently replaced costing £2,750 and have covered no more than 1,000 miles
since.
Overall, this early Discovery
1 V8 offers a fantastic starting point for anyone looking to own a collectible
Land Rover with the major structural and mechanical work already completed,
starting, running and driving while it’s been on
site.
