1950 Land Rover Series I 80"
SOLD
£4,815
Full restoration required; just like a big box of
Meccano....
This 1950 'lights behind grille' 80" was delivered new
to Australia by the looks. A plaque on the dashboard would suggest a military
career and at some time it has had the typical Ozzy engine transplant - in this
case a six-cylinder GM unit by the looks.
The chassis looks eminently
restorable and it comes with an original type engine in the back - whether the
original to the car we cannot say.
The steering box and column have been
replaced, the mounting of which is decidedly dodgy which will require
replacement during restoration. The factory body plate showing the chassis
number is on the bulkhead. The only paperwork with this vehicle is the all
impotant NOVA number to show all duties have been paid.
