Smart and very 'on-trend' four-owner Phase 2 GT Turbo from long term ownership showing just 64,626 miles - Investment Alert!

Dating from August 1990 this smart little Phase 2 GT Turbo has had just three previous owners to our vendor of 11 years, the previous owner to him, a lady had owned it some 16 years from April 1994 until March 2010.

In astoundingly original and unmolested order, a rare treat with so many having been modified, the car shows just 65,000 miles and looks super in its white coachwork with grey and red interior. During our vendor’s 11 year tenure, he has covered only c.7,000 miles mainly attending classic car shows or for enjoyable day trips and has always been dry stored through winter.

Recent works of merit include a new battery and ignition system overhaul in 2020, new hi-capacity alloy radiator, top and bottom hoses, new coolant, 2 new coil springs, new brake bias valve, new brake fluid, replacement heater matrix and four new UniRoyal tyres with other works carried out during his tenure including annual oil and filter services, new wheel bearings, a carb rebuild with new seals, gearbox oil change and reset tappets, re-set sunroof, replacement stereo with Ipod docking and replacement speakers plus refurbished spare wheel and new tyre.

The document file includes the V5C along with the original stamped service book showing 8 stamps including 1^st service at 1400 miles by Neath Renault and 2 hand written entries at 41,980 miles in October 1999 for an oil change, and the last entry in September 2009 at 56,083 miles including new clutch and brakes, purchase invoice dated March 2010 at 57,139 miles, many invoices for parts and maintenance and at least 20 old MOTs further backing up the cars lower mileage. The Vendor has advised us the oil pressure gauge can be temperamental, a common electrical fault with Renault 5 GT Turbos, however he drove the car up from Stroud to us and thoroughly enjoyed the drive.

The current MOT runs until May 2022 with no advisories recorded, so the car is ready to enjoyed – we expect the bidding to be exciting on this clean and tidy little 90’s pocket rocket, a proper Modern Classic investment opportunity.
