Description
Astra Van
modified at a cost of over £40,000; VXR engine heavily breathed
on developing 505bhp: VXR interior; Supercar beater; the ultimate wolf in
sheep’s clothing
This van started out as a
top spec Astra Van Sportive SE 1.9 CDTi 150. The history for both the van and
VXR upgrade are on file.
Externally it is in
excellent condition, with no major dents or dings. It looks most impressive
when cleaned and detailed and the interior is in equally clean
order.
We are told that the full VXR Conversion
with extras has included the following:
A 2.0 16V
Z20 LEH engine conversion remapped by RnD Motorsport to 505bhp, with new block,
LEH forged pistons, FCP rods, new steel crank, Piper Sports cams and all
ancillaries etc. Alloy engine bay dress up bolts can be seen along with the
Custom T800 cam cover.
Rebuilt M32 gearbox using
superior bearings, complete with limited slip differential.
Stainless steel 3.5in turbo back exhaust with VXR tailpipe.(Brand new
Catalytic converter less than 100 miles since), leading from the EDS inlet and
top hat and Nortec manifold with screamer pipe and heat
shield.
Turbosmart 45 Wastegate (Turbo recently
rebuild).
Gisfab intake and filter, enhanced
upgraded oil cooler, upgraded VXT radiator and all hoses replaced with JS
silicone.
The vendor also informs us that the oil
and filter have just been changed, along with fitting a new
battery,
The Ksport big brake kit with floating
discs have Brembo pads and are twinned with 19in JR Alloys with Cup 2 tyres on
front and Pilot sport on rear with Bilstein B12 suspension.
Inside, the VXR interior is complete with extremely comfortable
Recaro leather seats, air/ fuel meter and turbo boost dial, re-covered leather
steering wheel, Apple car play unit and speakers and a fully lined rear
cab/floor including full headlining.
The custom
rear bumper, dark tinted windows side and rear and the smart resprayed body
makes this stand out in a crowd.
Covering only
about 8,000 miles since the van was converted to this spec, this transformation
cost over £40,000 to complete and the engine cost £20,000 of that. The vendor
has described the engine as extremely strong and runs well.
Starting, stopping and driving while on site, this van is a
true supercar killer, the ultimate sleeper.
