Schnitzer prepared BMW 330Ci Coupe (SE Spec); one owner from new; 5-speed
manual; fantastic opportunity to buy a rare project car
In
Spring 2002 the vendor took the opportunity to purchase this new BMW
E46 direct from the Schnitzer GMBH HQ in Gorlitzer Strasse, 83395
Freilassing, Germany.
It
is a 330Ci (SE spec), two door coupe, right hand drive BMW, straight-six
2,979cc petrol engine with the manual five speed
gearbox.
The
body paint is Metallic Silver, "Gran Tourismo" black cloth/leather interior and
all the usual SE refinements including auto climate control, multi-function
steering wheel, xenon headlights, headlight wash system, BMW Business Radio, Arm
rest, electrically operated mirrors & windows.
It
was then given an AC Schnitzer upgrade at their HQ/ base in Freilassing
including: -
Schnitzer
18 Type 111 alloy wheels and low-profile tyres.
Schnitzer
sports suspension upgrade.
Schnitzer
branded body and interior styling comprising: - Front and Rear
Skirts.
Roof
lip and Boot lip.
Door
mirrors.
Hand
Brake Grip.
Gear
lever knob.
Alloy
pedal set.
Schnitzer
branded carpets.
In
May 2002, the car was driven directly to the UK from Freilassing, Germany
and it was first registered by the vendor on 1st June 2002 (reg no.
YB02 BYH). Thereafter, this car was driven only by his wife and himself until
May 2019.
It
has been serviced at recommended intervals, initially by BMW dealers and
subsequently by his local garage - receipts retained.
In
May 2019, having travelled just over 94,000 miles, the vendor decided to take
the car off the road to attend to a number of body and running gear issues
despite the engine and gearbox being in full working order, which remains true
to date.
Overall,
the bodywork and internal cabin seem in good order, but the main issues
requiring attention are: -
Refurbish
Wheels, repair front skirt and Front wing body panels. Shock absorbers have
fluid leaks; Seat Belt anchorages require attention with some corrosion on
suspension mountings and offside brake pipe.
Since
May 2019, It has been in dry storage and covered so will need servicing, but due
to work commitments the vendor has not managed to find time to refurbish it
himself.
