Greeves scrambler; not road registered;
restored condition blue frame and polished aluminum tank and mudguards; from
the late Graham Broadhead Collection
Greeves earned a formidable reputation
throughout the 1950s and ’60s for building some of the most competitive and
innovative off-road machines of their era.
Lightweight, rugged and famously sure-footed, their scramblers became a
favourite among club riders and privateers alike, thanks to their distinctive
alloy beam frames and no-nonsense engineering. Today,
restored examples remain highly sought after by collectors of classic British
competition bikes.
This example from late
Graham Broadhead Collection presents in restored condition, finished with
a striking blue frame paired to a polished aluminium fuel tank and mudguards,
giving it exactly the purposeful, period-correct look these machines are
known for. It is not road registered, as is common with many surviving
scramblers, and appears to have been refurbished with care to preserve its
classic competition character.
A handsome and evocative piece of British
off-road history, ideal for display,
parades, or classic competition events. A lovely-looking Greeves that captures the
spirit of an era when lightweight British scramblers ruled the
dirt.
