Description
Originally in South Africa, always having been RHD; current engine is
a 3.9 V8; lovely patina; rare early 110; runs and drives
This rare early 110
was originally built in March 1984 and as mentioned on the accompanying heritage
certificate was first distributed to Lusaka in
Zambia.
Originally would have been
fitted with a 2.5 diesel engine, but after a couple of changes it now holds the
3.9 litre petrol V8. The speedo does show 165,192 miles, although there is no
way of knowing how many miles the current engine has
done.
Presented in Trident Green
with a Limestone top, this looks like the original paintwork and certainly
matches what the above certificate states.
The chassis looks pretty good
due to being kept in such a hot climate, although there are a couple of welded
plates toward the rear.
Starting, driving and stopping
while with us, it seems to power along with the five speed gearbox, fitted with
a stainless sports exhaust, power steering, tinted glass, fairly smart but used
cloth interior and some very smartly rebuilt carbs under the
bonnet.
Being a 1984 vehicle, this is
now free to tax and no MOT needed although it was last tested (and passed) in
February 2024.
