Early 'pull-handle' car with overdrive; two owners, the current
since 1998; significant slow restoration between 2001 and 2025; now back on
the road
This early MGB Roadster was first
registered in October 1963 and has had just two owners from new, according to
the V5C, the current since 1998. This is the 3-bearing crank, pull handle with
overdrive vehicle from the second year of production, with a British Heritage
Certificate confirming this.
An invoice shows
that out vendor purchased this vehicle on 20th June 1998 and undertook a very
slow restoration starting in 2001 and finishing earlier this year, the
car always kept stored in his dry workshop. Included in the restoration,
both sills and floor panels were replaced and a new fuel tank, springs,
radiator, brakes, tyres, leather seats, carpets, hood plus many other parts
were renewed or replaced.
The restoration was
completed in March this year when the car was put back on the road for
the first time in 24 years.
Included
in the sale are various photos of the restoration carried out by the vendor
and a folder of receipts showing some of the money that has been spent on the
car.
Certainly running and driving while here,
due to limited use some adjustments and bedding-in may be advised before
any long journeys are undertaken.
