Currently
owned for the last 18 years; driven 35 miles to the auction; rare “2.8 Special”
model; finished in Paris Blue metallic
With
only six owners from new, this car was originally supplied locally from
Ravenhill’s of Hereford. The current vendor has owned the car for the last 18
years and has enjoyed the car on good days and at car shows. The car was
driven here over 35 miles with no issues and only a few weeks ago was driven on
a 200 mile road trip with friends.
This rare Capri 2.8i Special has only 105,199 miles on the clock (which
can be supported by the 15 previous MOTs and the DVLA MOT checker supplied with
the car). The current MOT runs out at the end October
2025.
First registered in June 1986, the car had been regularly serviced up
until the current owner showing 12 service stamps in the book, after that the
vendor maintained the car himself.
Receipts on
file show some of the work that has been carried out over the last few
years, most importantly a receipt for a reconditioned differential which was
fitted in June of 2019, a known weaker point on some of these
cars.
This car is an original vehicle to the specifications shown
below…
15in seven-spoke RS-style alloy
wheels.
Finished in
Paris Blue metallic.
Colour-coded
front grille.
Fitted with a
2,792cc engine.
Limited-slip
differential.
Five-speed
manual gearbox.
Half-leather
seats.
This rare car
is a great opportunity that can be driven from the off and gradually brought
back to its former glory as you go. The paintwork would benefit from a refresh
at some point but is perfectly respectable for the
age.
