Iconic 1940 Allis-Chalmers tractor presented in signature 'Persian
Orange'; running and driving condition; charming example with show appeal and
increasing collector interest
Introduced in 1937,
the Allis-Chalmers Model B was designed to provide small and medium-sized farms
with an affordable, versatile and economical tractor. Featuring the distinctive
offset engine layout that afforded excellent visibility when cultivating row
crops, the Model B quickly proved popular with farmers on both sides of the
Atlantic.
Simple, reliable and easy to maintain,
it became one of Allis-Chalmers' most successful tractors, with over 125,000
examples produced during its lengthy production run. Today, the Model B is
appreciated for its practicality, mechanical simplicity and charming pre-war
character.
This particular Model B was
manufactured in 1940 and is finished in the marque's iconic Persian Orange
livery, a colour that has become synonymous with
Allis-Chalmers.
Offered for sale due to lack of
use, the tractor is in running and driving condition and appears to be a
charming example of this popular pre-war design.
Keenly estimated, this attractive and characterful tractor would make
a welcome addition to any collection, smallholding or farm, offering both
practicality and considerable visual appeal.
